Wine Tasting Tips from Andrew Murray

Wine Tasting at Andrew Murray
This video has wine tasting tips from Andrew Murray, of Andrew Murray Vineyards. Their wine tasting room is located in Los Olivos which is a charming little village located in the heart of the Santa Barbara Wine Country. Los Olivos is tiny, but it has over twenty wine tasting rooms, all within easy walking distance of each other.

He says that he’s often asked the question: What’s the best way to taste wine, or to try to appreciate wine? He says that there are three different aspects of the enjoying wine tasting:

  1. Appreciate the color. A great sommelier can tell a wine’s variety, region and vintage just by tipping the glass and looking at the color of the wine at its very edge.
  2. Appreciate the aromatics. Another way that you can learn a lot about the character of the wine is from its aromatics.
  3. Appreciate the taste. Surprisingly, Andrew Murray reckons that the taste of a wine is in a distant third place among the three aspects of enjoying wine tasting. Nevertheless,  he explains that each variety of wine has a distinct flavor profile that you can learn to recognize. Of course, the best way to do that is by wine tasting.

Aw, this was a really nice post. Taking a few minutes and actual
effort to produce a really good article… but what can I say… I put things off a lot and never manage to
    get anything done.
